Nose piercing is a trend that is being followed in Asia far more than any other western countries. Asian girls prefer getting their nose pierced a couple of months before their marriage. Although many girls go for it years before they get married just as a symbol of feminine and beauty. The trend of nose piercing just got famous in western countries where celebrities adopted this fashion. Unlike, eastern countries the craze of nose piercing has always considered as a fashionable and gorgeous fashion accessory. Girls who are younger in age go for non-piercing nose ring to find out what kind of ring size and style suits them.
It is believed that the practice of nose piercing was first recorded 4,000 years ago. However, nowadays nose piercing is often associated with Asian countries like Pakistan, India, Bangladesh and few other Arab countries. Asian girls usually prefer getting their nose pierced a couple of months before they get engaged or married to give it some healing time. In weddings girls tend to wear huge loops called Nath in Pakistan and India usually in their left nostril to symbolize beauty and their celebration of becoming a married woman. This Nath is joined with an earring with the help of a delicate string of gold or silver. A stud is later on worn by women called Phul in Asian countries. Elder women of the family have the perception of not having spicy food while a girl get her nose pierced to avoid any infections. This theory is now discarded due to the scientific facts put forward. It is also believed by many people that wearing gold in the first few months of the healing process is effective as gold is a soft and a cold metal in nature. Now majority of the traditional people follow these theories religiously while others have discarded them believing they are old tales and beliefs.
This trend caught on in western countries when hippies went to India in the 1960s. Many Punks adopted this trend in the 1970s though their piercing practice is more brutal than others. Nose piercing is now considered as a fashion more than a tradition unlike old times. Teenagers are tempted to get their body parts pierced mostly ears, nose and naval. Until the 40s and 50s, piercing your body was considered an act of narrow minded people while the crème of that time was into sophisticated traditions. Now this concept has been faded where famous celebrities adopt piercing who apparently became the trend setters of these days.
If you have made up your mind to go for nose piercing then keep some before and after tips in mind. Firstly, make sure the needle or gun being used is sterilized and hygienic as many people develop an infection due to an unhygienic gun, needle or stud. Later on once you have your nose pierced clean it twice a day with an antiseptic soap or face wash. Do not keep moving the stud in circles or in and out as it may cause an infection and irritation. Taking care of a pierced nose is essential as people may get injections for having a severe piercing infectivity. If the pierced nose does not seem to be healing properly than don’t take any risks and get rid of the stud for the piercing to close. You can always get it pierced again. Once the pierced hole is healed switch to a nose ring, a tiny stud with a diamond is something I would go for rather than a hoop.
